Free chickenpox vaccination offered for first time to children from January 2026
The chickenpox vaccine has been safely used for decades and is already part of the routine vaccine schedules in several countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia and Germany therefore parents who may be hesitant with this new combination, may have their fears allayed by this information.
Although chickenpox has always been seen as a mild infection, there have been many cases where serious bacterial infection namely Group A Strep, and with the introduction on this new combined vaccination, it is also hoped that we can prevent such infections.
